Commemoration of the 22nd Anniversary of the Enthronement of His Majesty Mohammed VI, King of morocco

The Kingdom of Morocco celebrates, this Friday, July 30,  the 22nd Anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne of His glorious ancestors, a moment of commemoration of a common history, filled with a strong patriotic charge that reflects the perfect symbiosis between the Throne and the people in their march towards the future.

The celebration of this Day is an opportunity to reaffirm the perfect symbiosis between the Glorious Alawite Throne and the Moroccan people.

Through this glorious occasion, the Moroccan people recall the major achievements made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty the King.  This day holds a special significance for the people of Morocco as the Throne Day has a strong symbolic meaning for the whole nation.

22 years of progress and realizations

Since His accession to the Throne 22 years ago, HM. King Mohammed VI has opted for major structuring projects and opened social projects, the last of which was the generalization of social protection to all Moroccans.

Morocco has also adopted during this year a new development model, which advocates a vision that unites “a strong state with a strong society”, so that all forces are mobilized to create more opportunities for progress in the country.

This ambition essentially calls for mobilizing all the country’s potential by placing people at the heart of the priorities of public policies, both bearer and beneficiary of the development process.

The renovation of the development model constitutes a new stage in the consolidation of the social project carried out under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.

Thanks to the Royal’s Vision, the Moroccan economy has experienced a palpable recovery this year despite the recession in the world economy due to the repercussions of Covid-19.

These achievements have enabled Morocco to position itself as one of the main emerging countries in the African continent. The country’s political stability and its openness to international markets have enabled it to become the preferred destination for investors. Thus, the Kingdom has consolidated and diversified its strategic partnerships with the EU, the United States, China, Russia and the countries of Latin America. At the same time, Morocco gave a strong impetus to its relations with Africa, which was punctuated by its return to the AU and its strong economic involvement in the continent.

Remarkable results for combating the Covid-19

Under the leadership of His Majesty, the Government and people of Morocco have made every effort to combat COVID-19 and promote social and economic development and have achieved remarkable results.

Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign last January, more than 12% of the population has been vaccinated with both doses, making it the African country that has administered the most doses on the continent.

In this regard, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has chaired on July 5, 2021, the ceremony of launching and signing of three agreements with the Asian pharmaceutical company.

The project aims to produce in Morocco the anti-Covid vaccine, as well as other key vaccines, in order to promote the Kingdom’s self-sufficiency and to make Morocco a leading biotechnology platform on the African continent and the world in the field of the “fill & finish” industry.

Morocco has also send to more than 20 African countries since the beginning of the pandemic the medical aid in order to fight the Covid-19, the most recent emergency aid was send to Tunisia after the country reached dramatic figures in terms of hospital occupancy and cumulative incidence of infections among the Tunisian population.

Morocco-Rwanda: a unique relationship

Relations between Morocco and Rwanda witnessed a turning point after the official visit of H.M King Mohammed VI to Rwanda in October 2016, and the official visit to Morocco of H.E Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, in June 2016.   Since these visits, more than 40 agreements covering various fields were signed between the two countries and many official visits were exchange. For this purpose, a follow-up committee was created in January 2020, in order to accelerate the implementation of these agreements, as well as to explore new avenues for the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Since then, several cooperation projects are already operational and others will be launched shortly.

During the last meeting in May of this year, between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita and his Rwandan counterpart Dr. Vincent Biruta, the two sides reaffirmed their willingness to make every effort to further strengthen the bilateral relations, intensify and diversify the cooperation, to give it a strategic multisectoral character.
