The Speaker of House of Assembly of Saint Lucia, Mr. Andy Daniel, expressed his support for the “legitimate” and “non-offensive” action carried out by the Kingdom of Morocco to put an end to the “inadmissible violations of by ‘’polisario’’ in El Guergarat “.
In a statement from the Lower House of the Parliament of Saint Lucia, Mr. Daniel said that he “follows with great concern the latest illegal acts of banditry and provocation by the ‘’polisario’’ militia groups in the border strip of El Guergarat”, while denouncing the situation of “road blockade aiming to deliberately interrupt the free movement of goods and persons “.
Morocco’s action, adds the statement, took place in the presence of MINURSO within the boundaries of the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its territories.
Mr. Daniel therefore called on ” all parties, namely Algeria, Mauritania and the ‘’polisario’’, to resume the negotiations taking into account all the efforts made thus far with a view to achieving a just, lasting and mutually acceptable political solution to the issue of the Moroccan Sahara “.
